Jean Sumner born 1938 went to St Marks 1958 Moved to Aberkenfig South Wales has 3 children.
Eileen Sumner born 1941 attended St Marks moved to South has 4 children.
Thomas Sumner born 1945 attended St Marks, worked in Walmsleys Forge, has 3 children lives in Westhoughton.
David Sumner born 1949 attended St Marks, has 2 children has a fish and chip shop Bennetts Lane off Haliwell Rd, voted best chippy in Bolton 2016.
Barbara Sumner born 1957 has 2 children lives in Brynmenyn South Wales.
Their father Thomas summer Born 1915 worked in Walmesleys Forge till his death 1966. Drank and was a bookies runner in the nine house pub.

I was born in 1947, we lived at 19 Slaterfield, my sister Joan also attended St Marks.
I have been married to Stewart for 38 years we have two married daughters, Angela and Michelle, we have four grandsons (Angelas children are Paul, Stewart Christopher, Michelle has a son called Thomas.

Vivienne Davies now Oates
I was born in 1941, we lived at the newsagents on Fletcher St number 194, I was entered in one of the St Marks missing registers, We then came to live in the Isle of Man in 1946/7.
I hope to come to Bolton sometime this year.My mum was Ruth Davies and was secretary for the CTC for many years, My dads name was Arthur.

Peter Cocker
I was born in 1953, other family member that attended St Marks were my sister Kathleen, my enrolment at St Marks was 1082 in the mixed register on the 10th September 1962.
I still live in bolton Auberson road just of lever edge lane 5 mins from my birthplace grecian crescent and the old school i work for Mysons towel warmers on nelson street 10 mins from home 5 mins from school so i still pass the school a lot . well all for now mate keep up the excellent work well done.take care. I lived at 14 Venture St, venture street, other family members that attended St Marks were Marlene, Allan and Gerald.
My enrolment number at St Marks was 1133 in the mixed register on the 24th April 1963. I left St Marks in 1971

Marlene Matthews (now Veevers) I lived at 14 Venture St, other family members that attended St Marks were Sharon, Allan and Gerald. My enrolment number at St Marks was 1215 in the mixed register on the 23rd September 1964. I left St Marks in 1971 to attend Hayward Secondary Modern.
I now work in the Ambulance Service in Stretford and have lived in Daisy Hill with three Grown up children, well now all adults

Kevin James McClusky I was born in 1958, My sister Karen and I lived at 147 Plover St then 22 School Hill, I was registered at St Marks in the name of my father Stanley on the 9th April 1964 my enrolment number was 1225 in the Mixed register. I left St Marks on the 31st July 1970 and emigrated to South Africa in December, and lost touch with everyone. Currently married and working as an IT manager at a construction company. If anyone wants to e-mail me, feel free. Maybe we can jog each others memories.

Karen Ashley I was born in 1958. I lived in Rishton Lane then Burlington St . I was registered at St Marks in the name of my father Brian on the 29th Jan 1962 and again on 16th Jan 1967 my enrolment numbers 1048 and 1360 in the Mixed register. After leaving St marks in 1969, I went on to Derby St school same as my sister lynn, But I left Bolton late September that same year and went to live in my mothers home town of Cardiff, South Wales. I left School Aged 16 with 9 CSEs grade 1s and 2s and got a job as Credit clerk for Woolworth's. I later became a Laboratory Assistant. Until I left Cardiff in 1977. and moved to Leigh Lancs, Where I met and married my husband David Jones. We have been married for 24 years and have 3 adopted children aged 12, 10 and 7 And have lived on a farm in Cumbria since 1993.

Lynn Ashley I was Born in 1956. I lived in Rishton Lane then Burlington St . I was registered at St Marks in the name of my father Brian on the 1st Sep 1961 and again on the 16th Jan 1967. My enrolment numbers 1023 and 1359 in the Mixed register. I left St Marks in 1968 and then attended Derby St school.

David Dixon I was born in 1955. I lived at No39 Whittaker St . I was registered at St Marks School in my father's name Jack Dixon on the 25th April 1960. My enrolment number was 0952. I was transferred to the Mixed part of the school in June 1962, I left St Marks age 11 on the 29th July 1966. Soon after leaving St Marks my family and I emigrated to Australia but we returned two years later, I continued my education at Brownlow Fold High for Boys and then at Manchester Rd Technical College in Engineering. I have worked in China, Mexico, Germany and Holland, I previously worked for the Government as a Civil Servant and also in Her Majesty's Forces as a Tank Driver/Gunner. I have now retired from my work as a Research Assistant and I.T. Assistant.
I now live between Bolton and Wigan with my wife Anne.
My Father Jack Dixon also attended St Marks as did my Step Mother Vera Nicholson and Aunts Lily Nicholson and Violet Nicholson Uncle Gordon Nicholson and Cousin Ian David Ormes

Jack Dixon I was born in 1932. I lived on Manchester Rd. I was registered at St Marks in the name of my father John Dixon. My enrolment number is unknown as yet. Transferred from Victoria primary to St Marks then to St Bartholomew's I left St Bartholomew's 18th April 1946, photo right shows Teachers from St Bartholomew's in 1945.
I married Vera Nicholson who was in the same class at St Marks, we had one child together Jayne who was born in Australia and David from a previous marriage. I have been in the Army and the T.A and I have had my own taxi and coach business in Bolton. Vera and I are no longer married and I am now retired and live with my wife Lily in the Halliwell area.
My brothers Eric and Frank, son David Dixon, nephew Ian and niece Karen Ormes also attended St Marks.

Ian Anthony Edmundson I was born in 1958. I lived in George St . I was registered in my fathers name Cyril at St Marks on the 6th January 1964. My enrolment number was 1177 in the Mixed Register. I left St Marks on the 30th October 1968 aged 10 and if continued at St Marks would have left at age 11 in 1970. My family and I moved to Harwood in 1968 and I attended Longsight junior school and then Turton High School. I have worked for the post office, I'm a musician and I now work with computers for a Government department in the Bolton area, as well as doing some web design work. I am married with two children, Rachel and Paul (aged 12 and 13 from a previous marriage).
My mother Pauline Hailwood also attended St Marks as did my Aunts Joyce and Irene Hailwood and Uncle James Hailwood.

Ellen Flynn I was born in 1958. I lived in Grecian St . I was registered at St Marks in the name of my fathers name (withheld until permission granted) on the 11th Sep 1962. My enrolment number was 1103 in the Mixed register. I left St Marks age 10 on the 27th June 1968, 1969 would have been my leaving year. I'm looking for George James Patrick Flynn, can anyone help.

Edward Godding I was Born in 1948. I lived in Bull Lane when I was registered at Victoria School. I left Victoria school in 1958. After leaving Victoria School and leaving Bolton to emigrate to Quebec, Canada at the age of ten (I am the only one of my family that does not live in England) I went on to finish my schooling to obtain a degree in Industrial Drafting, and have worked in many areas of large industries such as foundries, Pratt and Whitney aircraft engines. Also worked for Beloit Wormsley building paper machinery, also traveled throughout Canada in mining, pulp and paper plants as a technical service rep. I am presently working for a company that makes ski lift, gondolas and cable cars as a quality assurance technician. I have been married twice and have two twin sons Stacey and Marc, and live in a quiet area of Quebec in the mountains about sixty miles north of Montreal. Have returned often to Bolton to visit my family and see the best part of Bolton GREAT LEVER it really feels good to see were I come from, and feels good to recharge the batteries again with a little charge of Bolton life.

Hindle Gregory born in 1941, lived at 65 Platt Street (no longer in existence), until I married Gillian in 1969 when I moved to Ladybridge, Deane, where I still live. I have one son, Peter, born 1972. After leaving St Mark's School in 1952, I attended White Bank School, Wigan Road until 1954 when I moved on to Bolton Technical College, Manchester Road. When I left school in 1956, I started work as an office boy at Bolton Gate Co. Ltd., Waterloo Street, rising to Chief Estimator. I stayed for 31 years until being made redundant in 1987 after the company was involved in a take-over. I was self-employed in the same trade from 1987 to 1997, when I retired.

Joyce Hailwood I lived at No10 Bull Lane. I was registered at St Marks in the name of my father William Thomas Hailwood on the 9th January 1933. My enrolment number was 0138 in the Infant register. Transferred to the Mixed part of the school on the 23rd August 1935 and would have left St Marks age 14 in 1941. I married Frank Stanworth and had four children, Jeffrey, Darren, Marilyn and also little Gary, who sadly died very young and never got to go to school. We still live in the Daubhill area.
My sisters Pauline, Irene and brother James also attended St Marks as did my nephew Ian Anthony Edmundson.

Pauline Hailwood was born in 1931 and Lived at No10 Bull Lane. Registered at St Marks in the name of her father William Thomas Hailwood on the 10th April 1936 her Enrolment number was 0323 in the Infant register. Transferred to the Mixed part of the school on the 23rd June 1938 and would have left St Marks at age 14 in 1945. Pauline worked in the cotton mill off Bradford Road, and married in 1956 to Cyril Edmundson, Cyril and Pauline had a son in 1958 named Ian Anthony. Pauline was a housewife until her passing away in 1989.
Pauline's sisters Joyce and Irene and brother James also attended St Marks as did Pauline's son Ian Anthony Edmundson.

Mary Moran I lived on Bradshawgate then on Rishton Lane. I was registered at St Patrick's school. I married Peter Whittle and we have been married for fifty six years and we now live in Birmingham, I would love to hear from anyone that remembers me.

Gordon Nicholson Gordon was born 2nd August 1928 and lived at 57 Sidney St then at 67 Grecian St . Registered at St Marks in the name of his father William on the 18th January 1934. Gordon's enrolment number was 0204 in the Infant register. Transferred to the Mixed part of the school in 1936 and would have left St Marks age 14 in 1942. Gordon stayed a bachelor all his life. Sadly Gordon died after complications from an accident at work, that had left him partially disabled.
His sisters Violet Nicholson, Lily Nicholson, Vera Nicholson and brother in-law Jack Dixon also went to St Marks as did nephew David Dixon.

Lily Nicholson Lily was Born 9th January 1931. Living at No57 Sidney St before moving to 67 Grecian St . Registered at St Marks in the name of her father William Nicholson on the 29th April 1935. her enrolment number was 0280 in the Infant register. Transferred to the Mixed part of the school on the 23rd June 1938 and would have left St Marks age 14 in 1945. Lily married Jeff Simpson, they last lived together in Gaskell St , Halliwell. Sadly Lily died in 1977 and is very dearly missed, Jeff also died some years later.
Her sisters Violet Nicholson, Vera Nicholson and brother Gordon Nicholson also went to St Marks and did her brother in law Jack Dixon and nephew David Dixon.

Vera Nicholson I was born in 1933. Lived at No57 Sidney St before moving to 67 Grecian St . I was registered at St Marks in the name of my father William Nicholson on the 5th April 1937. My enrolment number was 0375 in the Infant register. Transferred to the Mixed part of the school on the 29th August 1940 and I left St Marks age 14 in 1947. I married Jack Dixon who was in the same class, we had one child Jayne who was born in Australia and I adopted Jack's son David. I am now divorced, I still live in the Halliwell area.
My sisters Violet Nicholson, Lily Nicholson and brother Gordon Nicholson also went to St Marks and did my ex husband Jack Dixon and son David Dixon.

Violet Nicholson Born in 1926. Violet lived at 57 Sidney St then moving to 67 Grecian St . Registered at St Marks in the name of her father William Nicholson on the 18th January 1926. Enrolment number was 0203 in the Infant register. Transferred to the Mixed part of the school around 1934and would have left St Marks age 14 in 1940. Violet married William Hughes they had one child, Lynn. Sadly William passed away, Violet and Lynn still live in Bolton.

Maureen Sharples I was born in 1941. I lived In Pitt St and had four sisters. I left in 1952 to go to Haywood School Great Lever. I was also married at St Marks Church September 1961. I trained as a nurse at Townleys Hospital now Bolton General.

Joyce Taylor I was born in 1941. I was registered at St Marks around 1947 in one of the missing registers. My parents John and May Taylor I would have left St Marks in aged 11 in 1952 but I left aged 9 to continue schooling at Holy Trinity. My little sister Sylvia started at St marks school (I went to Victoria from the age of 3 in 1944) I had to change schools then so that I could take her and bring her home with me. Latch key kids, eh!.

Norman Wilson I was born in 1925. I lived on York Street and Back John Taylor St then moved to Deane. I was registered at St Marks in 1929 in one of the missing registers. I left St Marks age 9 in 1934. I continued my education at Brandwood St school until 1939.

Roy Woodcock I was born in 1941 in Moncriefe St . I also lived in Thynne St then Matthew St . Unfortunately I was registered at St Marks in one of the missing registers. I left St Marks in 1953. I still live in Bolton in Bromley Cross. I have regular contact with ex class mate Harold Parkinson who lives in the Morris Green area and I also meet Roy Dewhurst ex teacher from 1945/6.
