1836 Brooks and Smith.

1842 J Brooks and Co.

1844 Boiler explosion.

1887 Isaac Holt and Co.

1887 June 1st, Mr Isaac Holt killed by machinery.

1900 William A Holt and Co.

1925 William Holt and Co Ltd.

1971 Much of the Bark Street area of Bolton town centre is to be demolished. The old Flax Mill chimney, once intended for preservation as a landmark and monument to Bolton's industrial history, is to come down in the process. The site bounded by Knowsley Street, St George's Road, Bridge Street and the River Croal will be developed with shops, offices and other modern buildings.

1972 Chimney demolished.

1980s Mill demolished.

1986 Temporary Car Park.

1988 Rebuilt upon with the extension of the Market Hall.
