Timeline

1855 Peel Mill No2 built.

1959 closed as cotton mill partly demolished, rebuilt and taken over by Carters, the sister surrounding mills were taken over by Bolton Gate Co.

Presentations of a wrist watch and cheque were made to 66-years-old Mr Stanley Eyres, of Scawfell Avenue, Bolton, when he retired in 1966 from B and F Carter Co Ltd, after 25 years' service in the packing and dispatch department.
Making the presentation was Mr J. Carter, works director.

1999 B and F Carters ceased trading from Waterloo St address and demolished shortly after.

2001 B and Q Warehouse is opened, the outside retail area covers what was B and F Carters.

2003 B and F Carters Ltd went into compulsary liquidation.

I served my engineering apprenticeship at Carters 1970-1976
